Riyad Mahrez Named As Captain Of Algeria

Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez has been named as the captain of the Algerian national team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

Mahrez, who has previously been nominated for the Best FIFA Men's Player award, led Algeria to victory at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The winger has 24 goals in 74 appearances for his country.

Algeria have been drawn in Group E for the tournament, which will be held in Cameroon from 9 January to 6 February.

They will face Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and the Ivory Coast in the group stage.
