Breakdancing, also known as breaking, will make its Olympic debut at the 2024 Paris Games and will be the only new sport introduced at this year's event. As a new discipline, it brings a unique set of rules and regulations to the Olympic stage.
Judging the Dance
A panel of nine judges will assess the dancers' performances based on five criteria:
- Technicality: Complexity, precision, and execution of moves.
- Power: Dynamic energy, flow, and body control.
- Originality: Innovative choreographies, unique movements, and personal style.
- Rhythm: Synchronization with music, tempo, and musicality.
- Performance: Engagement with the audience, stage presence, and charisma.
